Today’s photo is from an engagement session for Mike and Michelle. They are a really great couple and I had a lot of fun photographing their engagement as well as their wedding. What I really like about this photo is that the purple they are wearing really sets them apart from the mostly green background.

On the first day of their freshman year at Valparaiso University Noah and Caitlin met each other. They are now engaged and will be married at the chapel at Valparaiso University next spring. I got to spend an evening with them on the University grounds creating engagement portraits of them at some of the places that had special meaning to them.
The tree in this photograph is a campus landmark know to the students as “Merlin”.
This building is the dorm where Caitlin lived her senior year at Valparaiso.
A little while back I shot a bridal shower and took some formal portraits of the groom and bride to be. They wanted some outdoor pictures on the golf course however Mother Nature seemed to have other ideas because it rained off and on most of the day. We caught a break as the party was wrapping up and were able to go outside. I placed the couple in a chair at the edge of a very large and deep puddle hoping to be able to use the reflection and capture the shoes. I instructed them to kiss and got this portrait.
Nick and Meghan met at a Halloween party last year and now they are engaged to be married. We spent last Sunday afternoon at Coffee Creek in Chesterton documenting their engagement. Between the fall colors, the nice weather and the many locations, I had to force myself to stop or we’d would have been out till dusk.
A little backlighting to make the fall colors glow. I also like the emotion showed in this one.
There were several walkways around Coffee Creek I could could have stayed out all day finding locations.
This Saturday I will have the honor of photographing Sarah and Lee’s Wedding. Here are my favorites portraits from their engagement session.
